Nigeria Tech Summit 2020 (Digital Edition) Successfully Welcomes 50 Speakers and 10,000+ Live Viewers (RECAP)

Nigeria Tech Summit successfully launched the 2nd Edition of its multi year initiative program virtually online powered by Global Startup Ecosystem and Sponsored by the US Embassy of Nigeria supported in partnership with Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, IBM Cloud, and more.
Originally scheduled to welcome 50 Speakers and 3000+ attendees, the free summit welcomed 10,272 live social media followers on Facebook, Linkedin, and youtube. A record breaking number for Nigeria as one of the most viewed tech and business virtual program in the country.

This free live summit event will welcome hundreds of digital delegates from across Nigeria and around the world to discuss the future of employment, entrepreneurship, and education in Nigeria as the country faces its highest level of youth unemployment and civic unrest. Insights and initiatives leveraging tech and innovative inclusive ways to accelerate the future of Nigeria will be discussed.
To align with the current conversations surrounding the changing business landscape the theme for this edition was “The Great Reset- A Nation’s Roadmap to A Decade of Digitization” A World Economic Forum initiative. The summit highlighted speakers covering the summit’s three pillars of ecosystem development- Entrepreneurship, Employment and Education.

Startup Lab Program
As part of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria’s on-going efforts to promote entrepreneurship and economic growth, the Embassy welcomes representation from creators and innovators from throughout Nigeria to participate in this virtual program.A Start-up Lab Virtual Bootcamp Accelerator with Silicon Valley mentors will be held on December 1, 2020. Selected delegates will get free access to the summit, mentorship, and a pitch competition opportunity to present to summit sponsors and partners on December 4. The U.S. Mission proudly supports entrepreneurship through the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in Lagos and Abuja, Providing Opportunities for Women in Economic Rise (POWER) Start Up Northeast and various exchange opportunities including the Mandela Washington Fellows, YALI, TechWomen, and the Fortune 500 Mentoring program.
